Reviving My Life: You Are Made For Greater

If I were to ask you how you view your life, would you tell me something good? If I were to tell you your current circumstances are about to change for the better, would you believe me?

Truthfully, I have not always been the person I am today. Being positive and having faith just wasn’t in my vocabulary. And believing in God and accepting Christ, forget it!

The girl I was then does not even compare to the woman I am today. And because my life has changed, knowing what it is like to experience and be transformed by unconditional love, I want to present that same opportunity to you.

Have You Been Honest with Yourself?

So beginning this blog, I shared with you what I called my “hidden testimony“. My life before Christ coming into the mix. My background, my struggles, my hang ups, I shared with you who I was then, and the circumstances that have led me to the life I live today.

Like many people, I had no hope, I did not believe my life was going to get any better. In fact I didn’t even know that it could.

Maybe right now, you are in a position where you are unsure of where your life is headed.

  • Striving for peer acceptance (doing what others do so you are not “outed”)
  • Settling in your friendships/relationships (taking what “you can get” because you feel there’s nothing else left)

Maybe you are living your life based on someone else’s dream.

  • Studying a subject in school (college) that doesn’t even interest you just so you can say you have that degree.
  • Sacrificing your hopes and dreams in fear that what you want will not pay enough or will not amount enough to the likes and validation of others.

Maybe you seem to have everything “together” but in reality you’re miserable.

  • Struggling to find your own source of inspiration and motivation.
  • Satisfying everyone else’s desires that you’ve neglected to discover your own.

Whoever you are, whatever you do, wherever you come from, I am here to tell you that your life is not over.

Do not fall into the trap believing that your life is over. Do not torment yourself looking at what you “haven’t done”/”could’ve done better.”

Reality is, none of us can take back the time spent. No matter if it’s been 10 years, 20 years, 50 years of life, there is always a chance to start over.

If you truly want a better life (if you truly believe that there is more out there for you than what you are settling for), I am here to tell you that the answer is simpler than you believe it to be.

No Material Things Will Not Give You Joy

So many people think that if they just “get into that relationship”, “become friends with those people”, “follow the regular norm” or “get that corporate job”, that suddenly all of their hangups and emotional voids will magically disappear.

Trust me when I say, you cannot live a free life when you continue to be in debt to the regrets and mistakes of your past. When you can really sit down and think about all of the brokenness you’ve encountered in your life, you will know that no matter what person, object or situation comes by, it won’t be enough to fix the pain in your heart.

This is because your healing does not come from people. It does not come from living the status quo, but it comes from God.

  • Want acceptance?
  • Desire validation?

Try Jesus. Go to the God who has already made you great in His image.

Yes I know, crazy right? I’ve been there, I know it sounds far fetched. I know you feel you’ve been through so much. And I know you may even think that He must not be real because what God allows people to suffer? Believe me, I’ve been there, said that.

The problem is not that God isn’t there, but that we as people continue to push Him to the side.

God was here before anything else was here. In fact, you my dear, were taught of BEFORE the world itself was even formed (s/o to Michael Todd’s sermon series on Grace Like A Flood which if you haven’t seen it already, please do. It will give you an amazing understanding of how much God truly loves each and every single one of us)!

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him.” (Ephesians 1:3-6, NASB)

Before the beginning of time, God knew you were made to become great! He knows how much you are worth, and He wants for you to be blessed in this life (and for an eternity).

The things this world gives you, the false hope people give you, is no match for the Promise God has spoken over your life. No man can ever transform your life the way God can. No human being has the capacity to give you the love God gives us daily.

The reason for your very existence is no other than God Himself.

So I challenge you to ask yourself, “am I living to the capacity God has for me?” If the answer is no, I urge you to take a chance. Trust God, allow Christ in accepting Him as your personal savior. Trust in the Lord to do what He says He’ll do.

Don’t do this for others, don’t do this for me, but do this for the sake of living the life you are meant to live.

Hope today’s message encourages you or someone you know to start over! It is never too late to live your best life ❤

  1. “The problem is not that God isn’t there, but that we as people continue to push Him to the side.” < Wow, this was pretty powerful. I feel that alot of the times I can so easily assume that God's not there and do things the way I, personally think things should be. I have to consistently remind myself and pray that I seek Him to the fullest to make sure I'm living the life God has drawn and is continuing to draw for me. Thank you for this post. I am so excited to see what God has coming for you. The best is yet to come!!

  2. First off I want to say I am glad to see your desire and commitment to draw closer to Christ! ❤️❤️

I agree, sometimes we are so concerned with what we want and when we want it that we forget the purpose of why we must wait. God loves us and He always has our best interest at heart!

Anytime stress or doubt creeps in, we must remind ourselves of the Promise(s) God has spoken over our lives. For it tells us in Hebrews 6:18 that both His promise and His oath are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Knowing this, we ought to know that everything spoken will come to pass because His Word is true and is for our good 💖💖

Thank you for reading and sharing your thoughts and kind words! Many blessings to you on your journey🙏🏽
